Have a Beach Day
Spend the day relaxing at a beach in Cleveland and its surrounding areas. Cleveland has a variety of beaches that are perfect for swimming, surfing and building sand castles. Starting with Masthead Beach, a lovely stretch of golden sands that are ideal for lounging on and sunbathing. Wade through the calm waters and swim among the sparkling waves, grab your snorkel gear and see if you can spot anything or paddleboard and canoe across the waters. If you have your furry friends with you, there is also Raby Bay Dog Beach, where you can let your four-legged friends run, explore and jump into the waves too.
Raby Bay Foreshore Park
Grab the kids and head down to Raby Bay Foreshore Park for a fun day in the sun. The kids won't know where to start with many activities and places to explore. There is a huge playground decked out with climbing structures, enclosed slides, a giant sandpit, swings and more. The park also boasts a massive bike track for kids to race up and down on their bikes and scooters. There is a smaller playground for little ones and for the older kids, a half court to play basketball, a table tennis area and an outdoor gym. Once everyone has worked up an appetite, lay out on the vast lawns and enjoy a picnic lunch followed by relaxing in the sun or a dip in the waters in one of the 3 swimming coves. The foreshore park is bound to keep your kids entertained all day.

North Stradbroke Island
Take a ferry to North Stradbroke Island. A quick 25-minute trip from Cleveland will land you on the gorgeous North Stradbroke Island, a beautiful day trip location with plenty to see and do. While here, you can explore all the island has to offer, like one of the stunning beaches surrounding the island, including Cylinder Beach to surf the turquoise waves, Toompany Beach, a secluded oasis, Jumpinpin, a breathtaking stretch of sand or the beautiful Flinders Beach. These are only some of the few beaches around the island that are worth visiting. But there is more to do than lounge on gorgeous beaches. Sandboard down the dunes, paddleboard across calm waters, bushwalk through the island and explore the stunning landscapes, spot whales and dolphins, shop in town and so much more.
Cleveland Heritage Trail
Get out and enjoy the day with a walk through Cleveland that will help you get to know a little more about Cleveland and its history. Follow the Cleveland Heritage Trail and discover the landmarks of the area, such as historical buildings and sites. The trail takes roughly a few hours to complete, depending on your pace and how long you linger at each site and stops past 35 locations within the town. Bring your bike to speed things up while you zip around Cleveland finding the following location or take your time and walk the trail. The trail stops past many of the town's landmarks including the historic Ormiston House, the birthplace of the Australian sugar industry, Redland Museum, Black Swamp Wetlands and more.

Do you love fishing? Well Cleveland is a great spot to throw the line out and see what bites. Get out on the water in a fishing charter and head out to sea to try your luck at reeling in some big fish. Visit Cleveland Point
Head to Cleveland Point to see the iconic lighthouse. It is a remarkable lighthouse that is unlike other traditional lighthouses and is worth the visit to Cleveland Point. The lighthouse was built in 1864 and is a hexagonal-shaped structure with weatherboards as opposed to metal cladding, making it a unique structure. After admiring the lighthouse, step over to the Cleveland Point Recreation Reserve to enjoy the panoramic views of Raby Bay and the surrounding Islands foreshores. The park also includes a playground for the kids to stretch their legs, paths to wander and take in the beautiful water views and green lawns to lay on and relish the calm.
Cleveland Markets
Every Sunday in Cleveland you can head down to Bloomfield St for the Cleveland Markets, one of Brisbane's original markets. The market has over 70 stalls to browse through that offer a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, arts, homewares, crafts, local produce and food and entertainment. Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the Cleveland Markets as you meander through the stalls, choosing what goods to bring home with you. There is a terrific selection of produce and delicious food from local producers, so come down, have a browse, see what's on offer and a bite to eat from the local bakers and cooks.
