Explore Hornsby Park
Hornsby Park is a unique park set on 60 hectares of bushland and open spaces with a massive old rock quarry at its centre. There are several sections that make up the park, like the Existing Hornsby Park, which is the formal parkland gardens. Here, you can find open lawn areas to picnic or kick the footy with the kids and let them stretch their legs. There is Old Mans Valley, a popular mountain biking spot among the community due to its steep slopes. This area features many trails for riding throughout the valley. There are several heritage sites within this section of the park, including the Higgins Family Cemetery. There is also the Quarry Void, which has striking exposed rock walls from previous quarrying operations and a large body of water in the middle. The parklands are a tranquil space right in Hornsby where visitors can come to explore history as well as get out in nature.
Hornsby Aquatic and Leisure Center
Whether it's a hot summer's day, a crisp winter morning or if you're just wanting to fit some exercise into your day, the Hornsby Aquatic and Leisure Center has you covered. The pool has wonderful features, so you can plan a visit all year round. There is an indoor pool and a heated 50 metre outdoor pool that is ideal for lap swimming. In addition to this, there is a big water slide and fun water features for the kids to enjoy, making this an excellent stop for the whole family. The pool also has a gym, so you can squeeze in a workout and then have a dip in the pool.

If you're in Hornsby, then a visit to the Rose Seidler House is a must. This iconic house was the talk of the town when it was completed in 1950, as it went beyond the traditional conventions of the suburban home at the time. The house was designed by Harry Seidler, who brought a bold way of life into reality. Today, the home remains preserved in all its glory as a gorgeous example of Australian mid-20th-century domestic architecture. The Odeon Cinema is an icon of Hornsby and a slice of history. The Odeon Cinema was initially built in 1914 and has since embedded itself in the heart of the town. Throughout the years, the cinema has undergone upgrades to keep it on par with other cinemas and shows a range of films, such as blockbusters and mainstream movies, as well as art-house and kids films. The cinema also includes a vintage candy bar for a nostalgic blast from the past.
Berowra Valley National Park
A short drive from Hornsby will get you to Berowra Valley National Park, a gorgeous haven for nature lovers. There is plenty to do while in the park, including taking one of the many walking trails like the Lyrebird Gully Circuit, which is a superb walk to see lovely wildflowers in spring, explore the bushland and bask in the tranquillity.
