Visit the TYTO Wetlands
Located right in the heart of Ingham are the TYTO Wetlands, an extensive reserve home to many species of birds and wildlife. Did you know that the TYTO Wetlands have such a large diversity of bird species that it rivals that of Kakadu National Park in a space that's dramatically smaller? In fact, these parklands are home to 27.4% of Australian bird species. So, if you're a bird watcher, bring your binoculars and settle in for a spectacle of Australian birdlife. The wetlands have about 4 km of walking tracks for visitors to roam as well as 4 designated bird viewing platforms and seating around the parkland. This is a peaceful respite from the bustle of everyday life and a must-visit on your next trip to the area.

Girringun National Park & Wallaman Falls
Located an hour from Ingham is the spectacular Girringun National Park. This massive parkland is split into 6 sections: Blencoe Falls, Dalrymple Gap track, Mount Fox, Princess Hills, Wairuna and last but not least, Wallaman. This is one waterfall you'll want to chase as it's Australia's highest permanent single-drop waterfall, which plunges approximately 268 metres into a misty spray. But this stunning section of parkland isn't only loved for the waterfall. It also features lush forest terrain with a network of trails you'll want to hike. There are lookouts with superb sweeping views of the forest to see too. And, if one day isn't enough, check into the camping grounds to spend the night in this dense forest landscape.
