Mount Gambier has no shortage of beautiful scenery, including the striking Blue Lake, known for its vibrant colours that change from a blue-grey to sparkling cerulean in warmer months. This spectacle attracts photographers and visitors alike to see this magnificent natural phenomenon for themselves. The change in colour has been attributed to microscopic calcite crystals in the water that disperse the light on the lake, changing the colours throughout the seasons. When you visit, walk the lake's perimeter, taking time to marvel at the views from the various lookout points along the 3.6km walk.

Umpherston Sinkhole is nothing short of mystical. Stop by and walk through a place that feels like it's been ripped right out of a fairytale. The sinkhole was once a limestone cave that collapsed and has now been transformed into the gardens that can be toured today. There are multiple viewing points from the top so that visitors can see various angles into the lush depths below. Stroll Through Valley Lake Conservation Park
Enjoy the afternoon at Valley Lake Conservation Park, a lush nature reserve perfect for spending time outdoors in the sunshine. The parkland features various trails and boardwalks with informative signs about the flora and fauna found in the reserve. Bring your walking shoes to hike one of the tracks, like the short 1.6 km Leg of Mutton Lake / Yatton Loo track, or for a longer walk, try the 4.2 km Mountain Trail. Following this, you can explore at your leisure and snap as many photos as you like. Additionally, this cave is one of the few that are wheelchair accessible, so everyone can visit and experience the magic of this geological wonder. Above ground is a fantastic network of hiking trails and lookouts offering magnificent views of the surrounding area. Echo Farm
Pack the kids into the car and head to Echo Farm for a fun day surrounded by animals. Let the tranquillity seep in as you wander the farm, stopping to pet all the cute animals. Echo Farm is owned and operated by the Harrison family, who have kept this old farm as close to its original state as possible. When visiting, you'll be given food for the animals, and from there, you can embark on a relaxing stroll around the farm and see the pigs, cattle, donkeys, emu, and kangaroo. There are also pens you can enter, like the guinea pigs, rabbits, sheep, and alpacas, to pet the fluffy residents. Additionally, you can step back in time at the Farmhouse Museum or pick a spot to picnic in this serene farm setting.
