  • Flexible Return: Once you're done with your rental, return the vehicle to any designated parking space in the area following the instructions in your booking email — no need to return it to a specific spot!

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What does “Floating Vehicle” mean?

KINTO is always looking for new ways to provide mobility solutions for our customers, including flexibility and new locations. KINTO Floating Vehicles have the same perks and convenience as existing KINTO vehicles; with the added benefit of being available to return and pick up within a specified area (in a legal and unrestricted car space), rather than at the same KINTO parking space each time. The KINTO Member Agreement continues to apply.

2. How do I find where to pick up my vehicle?
  1. Open your booking in the KINTO app and press the “Tap to Start Journey” button (this will appear within 10 mins of your booking start time).
  2. On the Connect to Vehicle screen, click “View vehicle location on map”
  3. The location of the vehicle will be displayed. You can press “Get Directions” to open your maps for specific directions to the vehicle.
3. What happens if my car isn’t at the location shown?

Refresh the page. If the same location is still showing, phone KINTO on 1300 454 686 and we can assist you with the location.

4. Where do I return the car to?

Return the car to a designated parking space as close as possible to the pinned location for the vehicle in the KINTO app.
For your Floating Vehicle, a designated parking space may be:

  • a legal unrestricted parking space (a parking space that is not paid or timed); or
  • a legal parking space  marked 'RESIDENT PERMITS EXCEPTED' on the street marked in your booking confirmation email (or as close to).

If you return the Vehicle to a car space other than the above and that car space is or becomes an illegal car park or a metered car space, you will be liable for any fees and charges associated with parking the Vehicle in that car space.

5. What if there’s no available space when I return the vehicle?

Please try finding an available ('RESIDENT PERMITS EXCEPTED' if applicable) or unrestricted parking space in the surrounding streets. If there are still no available spaces (for example due to an event) please park in the longest timed parking space available and contact KINTO on 1300 454 686 to let us know the location of the vehicle and the time zone. It is important that you contact KINTO to let us know about parking in a restricted parking zone to avoid being charged additional fees.
