What is car share?
Car sharing is a cost-effective alternative to ownership. Rideshare rental services offer vehicle hire that users can rent by the hour, day, or longer.
Rentals aren't just for road trips; they're also there if you need a car on a day-to-day basis. Say you need to pick up a couch from Marketplace, hire a HiAce van to fit and transport it home, or if you need to run multiple errands throughout the day, choose a zippy Yaris to get the job done.
With many locations around Australia and new ones popping up regularly, car sharing is a convenient and flexible alternative to owning a car. If you're searching for a car share near you, KINTO offers secure, on-street options so you can easily pick up and drop off around the clock with 24/7 access. Check out the KINTO Quoting Tool for live updates on what cars are available for hire.
Plan ahead and book early
The key to rideshare rental is to plan and get in early. With car share becoming a more popular alternative, planning ahead ensures you avoid disappointment and lock in the car you need for your next trip.
Are you planning a weekend road trip with the family? Secure a spacious car like the Toyota RAV4 with plenty of room to fit everyone and their luggage comfortably.
KINTO has hundreds of locations across Australia, with many in major cities and some rural towns. And with secure on-street parking locations, you don't have to wait for business hours to collect and return your vehicle, you can beat the traffic and get an early start on the roads.
Choose cars based on your trip type
When it comes to selecting your car, choose according to your trip. The benefit of car sharing apps like KINTO is that you have a fleet of stylish vehicles in your back pocket that you can pick and choose from depending on your daily needs.
Select from cars like the sleek bZ4X or compact Corolla hatch when stepping out to brunch. Or if you're driving the whole family to a special event, choose the roomy Kluger, a people mover that will easily get you to and from your destination.
Be familiar with the drop-off requirements
Most flexi car rental services have rules that users need to follow when returning their vehicles. Ensure you know exactly where to return it and any other requirements that must be met before locking up and leaving.
With KINTO users must return their vehicle to the space they collected it from unless otherwise stated. Knowing these details ensures you leave enough time to drop the vehicle off at the specified spot at the end of your booking. Need to extend your booking? Provided there is no booking on your afterwards, simply choose a new drop-off time in the current journey screen.
Leave the vehicle tidy
When you’ve come to the end of your rideshare rental journey remember to remove all rubbish from the vehicle and check carefully for any personal items that might have been left behind.
Return the car to its designated space clean and tidy, ready for its next adventure. Keeping the vehicles clean ensures a smooth experience for the following user and avoids penalties for more than standard cleaning.
